In this role you act as a legal partner to the business, focusing on shipping finance and related commercial matters. You’ll advise on vessel transactions, leasing structures, and refinancing, while drafting and negotiating broad commercial agreements. You’ll support operations, risk, regulatory issues, and cross-border initiatives, and coordinate external counsel on international projects. The position sits at the crossroads of legal, commercial, and project activity in a fast-moving, global context. You’ll help drive governance improvements and ensure multi-jurisdictional compliance.

Responsabilidades

Advising on shipping finance transactions including vessel acquisitions, sales, leasing structures and refinancing
Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements (charterparties, financing documents, project contracts, service agreements)
Supporting internal stakeholders on legal issues related to operations, risk management, regulatory matters and strategic initiatives
Managing external counsel and coordinating legal workstreams for international projects
Contributing to the improvement of internal legal processes, templates and governance practices
Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, industry standards and company policies across multiple jurisdictions

Requisitos principales

UK Solicitor or equivalent common-law qualification
Several years of experience in shipping finance, asset finance, or transactional law
Strong drafting and negotiation skills for complex agreements
Proactive mindset and ability to navigate international, fast-moving environment
Excellent English communication; additional languages are a plus
