As a Principal Systems Engineer at MaxLinear's Valencia Design Center, you will lead end-to-end validation and performance testing for advanced embedded systems, focusing on high-speed optical communication validation. You will partner with cross-functional teams to validate SoC-based architectures from DSP to optical sub-assemblies and back, ensuring robustness and reliability. You’ll design and automate test strategies across pre- and post-silicon phases, driving quality gates and actionable insights. This role offers impact through shaping scalable validation frameworks in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Responsabilidades
- Review system specifications and provide feedback to design teams
- Analyze functional and performance requirements and ensure testability for test plan design
- Design and implement test procedures to validate system requirements and measure performance indicators (pre-silicon and post-silicon)
- Validate high-speed optical systems including DSP-to-TOSA and ROSA-to-DSP paths
- Lead bring-up and debug of optical systems and lab platforms across electrical, DSP, firmware, and optical boundaries
- Design, assemble, and maintain optical lab test benches with repeatable measurement setups
- Automate system-level test suites using Python and lab APIs
- Develop automated test frameworks with Python and Robot Framework for scalable validation
- Own test specifications and automation tasks and ensure timely delivery
- Maintain and enhance cloud-based test infrastructure
- Collaborate with software, firmware, and hardware engineers to align testing with development goals
- Execute, analyze, and report system test results with actionable insights
- Generate performance reports, notes, and documentation
- Contribute to test strategy including quality gates and metrics
- Track and report defects and ensure resolution
- Drive process improvements with new methodologies and tools
Requisitos principales
- Strong background in systems testing and system-level validation
- Familiarity with high-speed hardware/software and SoC design
- Knowledge of DSP techniques for communications (sampling, modulation, time-frequency analysis)
- Experience validating electro-optical/optical systems with DSP interaction with TOSA/ROSA
- Hands-on experience with lab instrumentation and optical/high-speed electrical measurement equipment
- Advanced Python programming for robust automation architectures
- Experience building automated validation environments using Robot Framework or similar
