As Associate Director, Licensing Scouting, you identify and evaluate external innovation aligned with Almirall’s R&D and commercial goals. You’ll lead cross-functional teams to shape external opportunities, build relationships with partners, and drive strategic decisions for the pipeline. You’ll represent Almirall at industry events and manage due diligence to enable high-quality investments. Your work accelerates dermatology-focused deals and expands our external innovation network.

Responsabilidades

Lead systematic scouting of biotech and pharma companies globally to identify pre-clinical and clinical-stage opportunities
Define and implement scouting strategy to ensure a steady flow of opportunities
Maintain up-to-date landscape view and perform frequent screenings in areas of interest
Translate scientific insights into actionable opportunities and communicate strategic rationale for project triage
Frame initial collaboration paths and ensure actionability during external engagements
Establish and maintain relationships with external companies, BD professionals, VCs, academic centers, and dermatology experts
Represent Almirall at conventions, meetings, and roadshows with a strategy to maximize opportunity progression
Coordinate and lead cross-functional due diligence and align R&D, clinical, regulatory, IP, commercial, and finance perspectives
Present opportunity summaries and memos for internal governance and approvals
Oversee due diligence and, with legal/finance, contribute to contractual negotiations and deal structuring
Ensure seamless post-deal handoff and integration of licensed assets with internal teams

Requisitos principales

Advanced degree in life sciences (PhD, PharmD or MD)
10+ years pharma experience in R&D, licensing, or investment
5+ years in a scouting role with cross-functional due diligence leadership
Track record of identifying projects and advancing them through due diligence
Experience in evaluating/closing deals, collaborations, or strategic partnerships
Strong knowledge of immune-inflammatory or autoimmune diseases, ideally dermatology
Understanding of drug mechanisms of action and scientific rationale
Extensive external network in pharma, biotech, VC, and academia
Proficient in English; additional European languages are a plus
Willingness to travel internationally
