In this role, you will lead and shape Markel's Southern European operations, aligning local activities with the European strategy. You’ll drive process optimization, system deployment, and scalable service delivery across the region while ensuring strong IT integration and collaboration with cross-functional teams. You will build and develop high-performing teams, represent European operations externally, and own regional projects that advance transformation. This is a strategic leadership position at a Fortune 500 insurer with a regional impact.

Responsabilidades

Lead Operations across Southern Europe in collaboration with local leadership and the European team
Drive operational excellence through process optimization, system implementation, and service quality improvements
Partner with Underwriting, Claims, Sales, and Finance to enable business growth through operational infrastructure
Translate local market needs into operational and technological solutions aligned with the European transformation agenda
Build, lead, and develop high-performing teams with a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
Represent Southern Europe within the European Operations community, ensuring alignment and knowledge sharing

Requisitos principales

Degree in Business Informatics, Mathematics, IT, Business Administration, Economics, or related field
Insurance background in a similar role or management consulting experience in insurance
Strong knowledge of the Southern European insurance market, preferably with commercial lines and broker-driven distribution
Proven leadership in international or regional operations, IT, or process management
Solid understanding of insurance processes (Policy Administration, Claims, Finance, Broker Services) and international IT platforms
Ability to manage change and deliver technology-enabled operational efficiency
Strategic problem solving with strong analytics and business insight
Excellent communication and stakeholder management across cultures and functions
Fluent in Spanish and English; Italian/French/Portuguese is a plus
Willingness to travel within the region
Legal right to live and work in Spain
