Research Project Analysis of the European Research Area Project Description The Knowledge for Growth unit (KfG) of JRC-IPTS has a vacancy for a Visiting Scientist (GH40) in its ERA-Analysis action. This action conducts research on a number of areas relevant for the establishment of the European Research Area (ERA), such as the economic impact of R&D and innovation, indicators for monitoring the ERA, specialisation of R&D and innovation investment, researchers, and R&D in universities. Most of the reports produced by the Action are available in the ERAWATCH Reports Section*. The successful candidate would be expected to contribute to these areas as part of a team of 6-8 researchers. Typically, he or she would be involved in providing evidence in support of EU policies, with particular emphasis on statistical analysis and econometrics. In particular, he or she would be expected to liaise with the KfG Unit's Regional Modeling action (REMO), which is developing a system of regional models for evaluating the impact of EU research, innovation, human capital and infrastructure expenditure.
